The whole city transforms into winter wonderland, with amazing trees, lights and decorations on display.

We have compiled a list of our favorite things to do and see over the festive season.

Meet Santa at ZSL London Zoo

Experience the magic at London Zoo this December. With a whole host of festive activities, we’ve got everything you need for a jam-packed fun family day out this Christmas!

This December, children are invited to meet Father Christmas among some of the best company the animal kingdom has to offer.

Little ones can Meet Santa in his magical grotto at the heart of the Zoo and receive a special early Christmas gift to take home.

Enjoy festive crafts with Santa’s elves before meeting the man himself! 

Every child will receive an early Christmas gift as well as have the opportunity to pose for a yuletide photograph with Santa*. Tickets cost £12 per child.

SKATE at Somerset House

Glide straight into the festive season at Somerset House ice rink. 

Now in its 20th year, this popular icy experience is set against Somerset House’s stunning neoclassical facade, and is open all day and well into the evening.

Ice Skating sessions at Somerset House last for 45 minutes and it is essential that you arrive at the rink at least 20 minutes before your session is due to begin. If you arrive late you can join the session but they cannot add ice time for people who arrive late.

Somerset House is an accessible venue and they welcome people of all abilities

2. Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the London Palladium

Join a star-studded cast for the annual festive family Christmas pantomime at London Palladium. 3. Nativity! The Musical at the Eventim Apollo

Chuckle at a primary school’s hapless attempt to put together a festive production during Nativity! The Musical. Based on the Christmas film series, this family-friendly stage adaptation features many of its catchy tunes, including Sparkle and Shine, Nazareth and One Night One Moment. Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park

From thrilling fairground rides and ice skating to charming Christmas markets and family shows, join in the seasonal fun at Winter Wonderland in London.

This free-to-enter family event is one of the best things to do in London at Christmas. Featuring a huge selection of festive entertainment and activities, from ice skating and circus shows to a Christmas market and live music, there’s enough fun things to do to fill a whole day and evening.
